Today, Princess Cruises announced that the Sun Princess, the newest, largest and most innovative ship in the fleet, will feature additional Mediterranean journeys. These itineraries for September 2024 will start or end in Southampton on the 23rd and 24th.
Embarking on this 10-night trip promises stops to popular destinations throughout the Western and Eastern Mediterranean with seven night voyages departing from Civitavecchia, Barcelona or Athens. These can also be combined to create 14 or 21-night journeys.
This ship is the largest ship in the fleet which is currently under construction in Italy. It features a newly designed Piazza to embrace the Italian heritage and the entertainment space, The Dome, has been inspired by the famous terraces of Santorini.
There will be more than 29 restaurants and 21 decks for passengers to explore, plus the nearly 176,000 tonne ship will feature 1,500 balcony staterooms with all balcony and oceanview staterooms will house an in-room sofa.
Sun Princess will be the first of 11 new vessels in the fleet to be powered by Liquified Natural gas (LNG).

Sun Princess will also be our first ship to be powered by eco-friendly Liquefied Natural Gas, just one of a host of ways we are honouring our commitment to sustainable operations.”
