Seabourn’s first purpose-built expedition ship, Seabourn Venture, had her naming ceremony during the first voyage to Antarctica. Whilst the ship was launched in Norway back in July, the luxury line chose the southernmost continent for the ceremony as Antarctica truly “represents everything for which the ship is intended”.
The president of Seabourn, Josh Leibowitz, stated;
We’ve eagerly awaited Seabourn Venture’s maiden voyage to Antarctica since the moment the ship debuted earlier this year. The extraordinary continent encapsulates exactly what we hope to bring to guests who sail aboard our new ship; adventure, discovery and awe-inspiring wonder. With the beauty of the Antarctic landscape and scenery in the background, it truly was the perfect place to name the most luxurious expedition ship, Seabourn Venture.
Seabourn Venture’s first expeditions will be 11-22 day voyages visiting Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falkland Islands until February 2023. In March and April 2023, there will be a range of 7-12 day itineraries around Brazil and the Amazon.
The expedition vessel will then run new itineraries in the British Isles and Iceland. Seabourn Venture will depart from Greenwich on 12th May 2023 and embark on a 12 day journey to Edinburgh before sailing to Reykjavik on 24th May.
Seabourn Venture will undertake a series of Arctic programmes before departing on a 23-day adventure across the Northwest Passage on 27th August. The ship offers hiking tours and Zodiac trips led by a 26-member professional team of scientists, historians and wildlife experts to give you the most perfect, all-round experience.
