Royal Caribbean has revealed that GRAMMY-winning artist Meghan Trainor will serve as the godmother of its new ship, Utopia of the Seas. To celebrate this collaboration, 52 fans are invited to witness Trainor christen the ship and perform live during a 3-night event, just days before the ship’s official debut on July 19. The celebration begins in Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, from where Utopia will embark on 3- and 4-night voyages to Royal Caribbean’s acclaimed private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay, and Nassau, The Bahamas.

A Special Event
The christening event will include special guests, the ship’s crew members, media, partners, and 52 fans representing each weekend of the year, along with their guests. As godmother, Trainor will participate in the maritime tradition of bestowing safekeeping onto the ship, its crew, and the future holiday-makers of Utopia. The celebration will feature Trainor’s exclusive performance in the iconic open-air AquaTheater, and fans will have the opportunity to meet her in person.
