Joining four Norwegian fjords voyages each year, Chef Michel Roux. brings his passion for, and knowledge of, Norwegian cuisine to elevate these voyages with takeovers that extend across the ship in 2025, following a successful 2024 programme. As well as the well-loved ‘Le Gavroche at Sea’ residencies, the voyages will feature several other activations across the restaurants and event spaces where guests will be able to experience the charm, wit and skills of one of the world’s most respected and accomplished chefs. He will also be bringing his team from Le Gavroche on board to work with our front and back of house teams.
Who Is Michel Roux?
Legendary chef Michel Roux is the two Michelin-starred Chef Patron at Le Gavroche. During a career spanning over 40 years, he has opened multiple restaurants including Roux at Parliament Square and two restaurants at The Langham, London. He has presented numerous television shows including MasterChef: The Professionals.
After deciding to follow in his father Albert Roux OBE’s footsteps, Michel left school at 16 for the first of several apprenticeships at Maitre Patissier, Hellegouarch in Paris. He was then Commis de Cuisine at Alain Chapel’s signature restaurant at Mionay, which he cites as his biggest influence. He also worked at Boucherie Lamartine and Charcuterie Mothu in Paris, and the Cavers Restaurant in London.

Can guests book dining experiences?
Yes, Le Gavroche at Sea dining experiences (Le Gavroche at The Verandah on board Queen Mary 2, and Le Gavroche at Sir Samuel’s on board Queen Anne), will be available to book on MyCunard from six months prior to departure. Check your pre-cruise emails for more information once this becomes available.
What dishes can guests expect on the Le Gavroche at Sea menu?
The five-course menu Showcasing Classic Le Gavroche dishes and recipes will give you the opportunity to taste some of Norway’s finest seafood, such as Norwegian Snow Crab, butter roasted Atlantic Halibut and pickled Mackerel, all followed by a delicious dessert. Wine pairings will also be available on board for an additional charge.
Can I still attend Le Gavroche at Sea if I have dietary requirements?
Dietary requirements can be catered for, and there is a vegan/vegetarian menu.
Will guests be able to see Michel Roux whilst he is travelling?
Chef Michel Roux will be hosting several events that are free to attend whilst he is travelling on board both Queen Mary 2 and Queen Anne. These include live cooking demonstrations, book signings and Cunard Insights talks. More information on these events will be in the Daily Programme once on board.
