When it comes to exploring the awe-inspiring beauty of the Norwegian fjords, there’s no better way than by sea. Susan embarked on an unforgettable eight-night journey, setting sail from Liverpool and heading straight for the jaw-dropping landscapes of Norway.
Her itinerary read like a dream: the charming ports of Olden, Ålesund, Åndalsnes, and Geiranger, complemented by scenic sailings through Nordfjord, Geirangerfjord, and past the enchanting Seven Sisters Waterfall.
Living the Friluftsliv Dream
Susan fully embraced friluftsliv, or “open-air life” – Norway’s love affair with the outdoors.
In Olden, she visited the magnificent Briksdal Glacier, a spectacle of ice that glimmers against the lush green valleys. Her adventurous spirit took her to the canals of Ålesund, where she tried kayaking. Susan even faced her fear of heights to soar above Norway’s dramatic landscapes on both the Loen Skylift and the Romsdalen Gondola.
A journey aboard the historic Rauma Line from Åndalsnes to Bjorli, hailed as one of Europe’s most scenic railways, was another highlight. Known as the Golden Train, this iconic route winds through emerald forests, majestic mountains, and rushing waterfalls—a truly magical experience.
