Who Owns Seabourn Cruise Line?

Seabourn is a luxury cruise line that was established in 1987. It is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, and is one of the subsidiaries of the Carnival Corporation, the largest cruise company in the world.

Carnival Corporation is a dual-listed company that was formed in 2003. Following the merger between Carnival Corporation and P&O Princess Cruises. Carnival Corporation is registered in Panama and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange. The company has a market capitalisation of approximately $19 billion and operates 105 ships under 10 different brands, including Seabourn.

Seabourn was acquired by Carnival Corporation & plc in 1991. Since then, the luxury line has become a significant part of the Carnival Group portfolio. Originally known as “Yachts of Seabourn”, the cruise line changed its name to simply “Seabourn” in 2010.

Seabourn Cruise Line Fleet

Seabourn Cruise Line operates five ships and two expedition ships, which offer luxury cruises to various destinations around the world. The ships are Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn, Seabourn Quest, Seabourn Encore, and Seabourn Ovation. The expedition ships are Seabourn Pursuit and Seabourn Venture. 

The cruise line has won numerous awards for its exceptional service, dining, and accommodations. It is consistently recognised as one of the best luxury cruise lines in the world. In 2017, Seabourn was named the “Best Small-Ship Cruise Line” by the readers of Travel + Leisure magazine.

Despite being a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc, Seabourn operates independently and has its own management team. The company’s president is Richard Meadows, who has been with Seabourn since 2011. Meadows has extensive experience in the cruise industry and has previously worked for Holland America Line and Cunard Line, both of which are also subsidiaries of Carnival Corporation & plc.
