MSC Cruises are expanding their horizons with a groundbreaking new adventure. The introduction of voyages from Seattle to Alaska in Summer 2026. This exciting season will see MSC Poesia home in Seattle. Embarking weekly on seven night cruises to the pristine wilderness and cultural treasures of Alaska and Canada.

Running from May to September, the Alaska sailings will invite travellers to experience breathtaking scenery, incredible wildlife, and the rich cultural heritage of the Alaska Native people. As part of this milestone, MSC is also unveiling two transiting Panama Canal cruises. Bridging the season between Seattle and Miami.

Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises:

MSC Cruises offers an unparalleled choice of destinations and embarkation ports in every corner of the world and by introducing sailings to Alaska we’re further extending our global offering and giving our guests the opportunity to experience this must-see region.

MSC Poesia will be dedicated to sailing itineraries from the U.S., spending summer ‘26 cruising to Alaska and then moving to Miami for the winter, meaning we’ll also be offering travellers the chance to experience two transiting cruises through the Panama Canal when the ship moves between the east and west coast.

Itinerary Highlights

MSC Poesia is a mid sized ship designed to navigate the narrow channels of Alaska’s Inside Passage. Allowing passengers to experience Alaska’s dramatic Fjords and glacial landscapes up close. The seven night itinerary features some of Alaska’s most sought after stops:

  • Icy Strait Point, Alaska – Located near the village of Hoonah, this native owned destination offers a unique range of experiences including the world’s largest zip line, brown bear viewing, whale watching, and rich cultural activities such as dance performances and cooking classes.
  • Juneau, Alaska – Only accessible by air or sea, Alaska’s capital is a hub of history and natural beauty. From gold panning experiences to the scenic Goldbelt Tram on Mount Roberts, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Gastineau Channel and surrounding mountains.
  • Ketchikan, Alaska – Known as the “salmon capital of the world,” Ketchikan offers fantastic fishing opportunities, wildlife sightings, and a vibrant local arts scene. It’s also famous for its historic Creek Street and its authentic totem poles, which date back to the 19th century.
  • Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska – Sailing along Tracy Arm, guests will encounter dramatic cliffs, rushing waterfalls, and abundant wildlife. The journey ends with a spectacular view of the Sawyer Glaciers, famous for their vibrant blue ice.
  • Victoria, British Columbia – A gateway to the natural beauty of Vancouver Island, Victoria is celebrated for its British heritage, historic architecture, and gourmet food scene. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to spotting whales and sea lions in the Salish Sea before arriving in this charming city.

Shore Excursions

MSC Cruises have designed a range of shore excursions to suit various interests. Adventurous travellers can explore the wilderness on an ATV, soar on the world’s largest zip line, or enjoy a tranquil whale watching excursion. These curated excursions offer a deeper dive into Alaska’s natural wonders, cultural heritage, and culinary delights.

The Panama Canal

In addition to Alaska, MSC is introducing two exceptional Panama Canal Grand Voyage itineraries. A dream journey for history enthusiasts and world travellers alike. As MSC Poesia relocates from Miami to Seattle for the Alaska season, guests will have the chance to cross the Panama Canal. These Grand Voyage itineraries feature up to ten destinations. From the beaches of San Diego and Los Angeles to Colombia’s historic Cartagena and the stunning landscapes of Puntarenas, Costa Rica.

The first Grand Voyage departs from Miami on April 23, 2026. With bookings now open. A second sailing from Seattle back to Miami at the end of the Alaska season will be available soon. Offering another chance to traverse the famous canal. But not to worry with MSC Cruises you can book your next cruise onboard.

For those eager to experience some of the world’s most iconic landscapes and seascapes. MSC Alaska 2026 promises to be a season of remarkable adventure with MSC Cruises.
