The cruise line has entered into an exclusive culinary collaboration with Tony Gemignani, the 13-time World Pizza Champion and renowned pizza chef. Chef Gemignani has cooked up five unique pizzas for Princess, each one featuring an exciting blend of savoury flavours and premium ingredients like Soppressata sausage, hot honey, Gorgonzola, and sweet fig preserve. This collaboration takes Princess Cruises’ reputation for offering the Best Pizza at Sea to a whole new crust.

Chef Gemignani’s artisan, hand-tossed pizzas will make their delicious debut at Alfredo’s onboard the new Sun Princess, adding to the ship’s extensive menu of culinary delights. Plans are in place to roll out these pizzas to the rest of the fleet this summer. To ensure every slice is just right, Princess chefs received specialised training under Chef Gemignani’s guidance at his acclaimed Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco.
To top off this new collaboration, Princess Cruises will attempt to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title on 12 July 2024 for the Largest Pizza Party at multiple venues, featuring fresh-from-the-oven pizzas prepared by the line’s master chefs, including new selections from Chef Gemignani.
Who Is Tony Gemignani?
Tony Gemignani is the most decorated pizzaiolo in American history, an award-winning chef, restaurateur, master instructor, philanthropist, and author of several books on pizza. He opened his first restaurant, Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, in San Francisco in 2009, serving up various styles of pizzas made with artisan flours, authentic sauces, and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant was met with immediate success upon opening and was named the best pizzeria by USA Today and top pizza restaurant by the Travel Channel.

The new Chef Gemignani-designed pizzas will be featured at Alfredo’s and Gigi’s specialty pizzerias, charming sit-down venues offering freshly prepared, individual-size pizzas, salads, wine, beer, and more, and voted “Best Pizza at Sea” by USA Today. They will also be available at the complimentary Slice locations on the Lido Deck of Princess ships.
